Giving Marin is a new initiative that partners some of the North Bay’s most community-minded businesses and institutions with local nonprofits. With the support of the
Marin Community Foundation, Kaiser Permanente, College of Marin, Redwood Credit Union, Nugget Markets, Ghilotti Bros, Fairview Capitol, CPi Developers , Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical and the Marin IJ, local nonprofits are able to reach an expanded audience, helping raise awareness, resources, funds and volunteerism. The Marin IJ thanked the supporters of Giving Marin at a recognition dinner at Wildfox Restaurant in Novato on Feb. 6. Center pieces were created by Cedars, a Marin nonprofit that has been serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1919. The goodie bags included Halo Truffles and Wagster Treats, both products from the kitchen of nonprofit Homeward Bound of Marin which helps homeless and low-income people gain employment skills for a more stable future.
