ARTS ADMINISTRATION INTERN FOR OPERA

Volunteer needed to assist the Executive Director in Arts Administration of the Golden Gate Opera. Some of the duties include: helping produce a Bullying Prevention opera for young people, basic administration, team building, writing, phone calling to increase marketing, fundraising for planning operas and events. BECOME A TURTLE OBSERVER ON TAM

Become a trained Turtle Observer and monitor and record behavior of the native Western Pond Turtle on Mt Tamalpais.  Actinemys marmorata is a federally listed vulnerable species. These are the only fresh water turtles native to California, and they can be found around Phoenix, Lagunitas, and Alpine Lakes in the Mt. Tamalpais Watershed. Volunteers monitor turtles from February through June on their own schedule. FROG DOCENT VOLUNTEER TRAINING MARCH 10

Marin Municipal Water District needs assistance from the community to help restore a healthy Foothill yellow-legged frog (Rana boylii) population within the watershed. MMWD trains docents to monitor habitat conditions and to educate hikers about the foothill yellow-legged frog at Little Carson Falls, a popular hiking destination and a foothill yellow-legged frog breeding location. MARIN STABLE HABITAT RESTORATION

HABITAT RESTORATION

Volunteer with Marin Municipal Water District staff and other volunteers along Bon Tempe's lakeshore , helping to restore the area by removing invasive French broom. The Marin Wildlife Picture Index Project depends on volunteer "Community Scientists" to help maintain wildlife cameras and process photos.
