HUCKLEBERRY CELEBRATES SUCCESSES

Huckleberry Youth Programs’ 2019 Spring Gala took place on April 11 at the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco. The organization’s mission is to educate, inspire, and support under-served youth to develop healthy life choices, to maximize their potential, and to realize their dreams. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond (above) was the gala keynote speaker.

Since 1967, Huckleberry Youth Programs has accomplished its mission by providing San Francisco and Marin youth and their families with a network of services and opportunities by caring peers and adults. Mayor London Breed (above) showed her support for Huckleberry’s 20 years of juvenile justice reform in San Francisco.

Approximately 300 guests attended the Huckleberry Youth Programs gala. The auction raised funds for the ongoing programs at Huckleberry. The evening highlighted the work of Huckleberry’s Community Assessment & Resource Center, celebrating its 20th anniversary of diverting arrested youth from the juvenile justice system, keeping them in school, and on a path to success. The program has provided case management to 7,494 San Francisco arrested youth in the past two decades.
