The City of San Rafael presented the Richard P. O’Brien and Mary Ferrario O’Brien Citizen of the Year Award to the Dominican Sisters on March 2 in the City of San Rafael council chambers. The Mayflower Chorus celebrated the start of its season on Feb. 22 with a 1970s themed party to raise funds for Bread & Roses Presents, an organization that brings live music and performing arts to Bay Area children, adults and seniors who are disadvantaged,marginalized or otherwise isolated. The Barry A. Murphy Fund, a San Anselmo-based nonprofit, promotes health, hygiene and education to
villagers in Maruvango, Tanzania. The organization has supplied a rain catchment unit that provides
clean water for the 1,000 students at the local school. Pictured (above, top) are students taking water to drink
