MUSIC ED PROGRAM NEEDS VOLUNTEERS
Enriching Lives through Music inspires youth from underserved neighborhoods to thrive emotionally, socially and academically through music education, performance, and engagement in a vibrant center of musical excellence. The full scholarship multi-year program provides music education, ensemble, and performance opportunities to low-income youth to develop the social, emotional, and academic skills they need to succeed in life. The California Reentry Program at San Quentin State Prison is a nonprofit, independent advising program that seeks to cover a wide array of future parolees’ needs including academic advising, referrals to housing resources, job advice/placement, child-support issues, and support groups. Love is the Answer's Pet Connection Program provides opportunities for you and your pet to meet and visit with residents living in long-term care facilities in Marin. This improves the quality of lives, provides comfort, helps to decrease loneliness and isolation. Requirements are minimal: An interview/orientation, pet evaluation, obedience and current immunizations, and an ability to commit to visits on a regular basis. Jessica's Haven & Rescue rescues small dogs and gets them ready for adoption. The organization provides vocational and social opportunities for individuals with disabilities who help with getting the dogs ready for adoption. Volunteers are needed for a variety of opportunities, including bathing and walking the dogs, arts and crafts with the human clients and helping with office and facility chores. ExtraFood.org operates a nonprofit county-wide food recovery program in Marin. Volunteers pick up excess food from any business or school and immediately deliver it to nonprofit partners including homeless shelters, food pantries, and after-school programs that serve Marin's's most vulnerable people.
