DESCRIPTION:The Youth Poster Contest gives Marin middle and high school students a public platform to stand up and speak out about social justice\, health\, discrimination\, climate change\, women’s rights\, immigration\, firearms regulations and other issues important to them. The project also focuses on reaching underserved Marin youth who might not otherwise have exposure to art due to a lack of art teachers\, art supplies or parental support at home. Students are engaged through free poster workshops in several Title I schools\, and via Next Generation Scholars\, which provides educational programming to at-risk Marin students. The Youth Poster Contest was developed in partnership with the Marin County Office of Education. Prizes will be awarded to the contest winners. DESCRIPTION: Side by Side provides Bay Area youth ages 5 to 26 and their families with critical services that span behavioral and mental health\, early intervention in schools\, LGBTQIA+ support\, transitional housing for foster youth\, and special education.  Side by Side is in need of office volunteers at its San Anselmo headquarters. Duties include filing\, helping with in-house mailings and data entry. The office is open Monday through Friday and hours are flexible during the day\, although sometimes specific times and days are needed for particular tasks. DESCRIPTION:   Vivalon is looking for volunteers to safely deliver meals to homebound seniors. Volunteers must commit to one three-hour route per week. Volunteers use their own car to deliver meals to homebound clients while providing limited daily contact with program participants. All volunteers are required to have a COVID-19 booster vaccination. Prepared meals are delivered to seniors on Monday\, Wednesday and Friday. There are morning shifts (9 a.m.-12 p.m.) and afternoon shifts (1-4 p.m.).
