VOLUNTEER WITH MARINE MAMMAL CENTER

The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito has a variety of volunteer opportunities. Most volunteer opportunities require that participants be at least 18 years old and graduated from high school, however, they do offer a Youth Crew Volunteer Program and Fish Kitchen Support shifts for high school students 15 years of age and older. The California Reentry Program at San Quentin State Prison is a nonprofit, independent advising program that seeks to cover a wide array of future parolees’ needs including academic advising, referrals to housing resources, job advice/placement, child-support issues, and support groups. They provide one-on-one counseling with inmates who are paroling within the next few weeks, months and years to help assess their current needs, experience and interests, and support them in establishing a plan to achieve their goals once paroled. 80 OVER 80 ART EXHIBIT

80 Over 80 is a special exhibit that will feature 80 works of art by artists over the age of eighty. This juried show will be on view at the Bartolini Gallery at Marin Center from April 19 through June 1 and will be open to all artists living in Marin County over the age of 80. Former Marin Cultural Treasure Award winners Kathleen Lipinski, Steve Emery, and Cultural Commissioner Donna Seager Liberatore will act as jurors for this exhibit.

ITALIAN STREET PAINTING IN SAN RAFAEL

Volunteer are needed for the Italian Street Painting Marin event  in downtown San Rafael June 21-25.  This year's theme is the Wonders of Space and Time! Volunteers receive a free t-shirt and lunch, and experience great music and the fine art of street painting. Teens can earn community service hours. LEARN TO REDUCE CARBON FOOTPRINT
