SWEETWATER BENEFIT FOR HUCKLEBERRY

A  spring concert featuring OTIS to benefit Huckleberry Youth Programs is May 3, at 8 p.m. OTIS is inspired by the music of Memphis, Booker T., Otis Redding, and Stax Records. Proceeds from the concert will help Huckleberry Youth Programs continue to provide services promoting safety, health, justice, and education to more than 6,700 youth in Marin and San Francisco each year. CELEBRATING ASIAN HERITAGE

The Asian Pacific Heritage Festival featuring an Asian fashion show, FANCO dance team, Indian dances, MCCA Lion Dance team, Martial Arts Group 10,000 Victories, Sonoma County Taiko, MCCA Tai Chi team,  Wild Goose Qigong of COM, Hula Dancers of the Marin YMCA, a Japanese tea ceremony and activities for children will take place on May 5, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., at the Marin YMCA, 1500 Los Gamos Drive in San Rafael. MAY MADNESS AFTER PARTY

The May Madness After Party, featuring dance band Pride & Joy, takes place on May 12, 6 p.m.-11 p.m., after the May Madness classic car parade in San Rafael. The event is outdoors on the beautiful Magnolia Terrace at the San Rafael Elks Lodge, 1312 Mission Street, a short walk up the street from the parade. Food and drink will be available for purchase. LGBTQ SPOUSAL/PARTNER LOSS

Find emotional support and express grief in a group that recognizes the unique needs of spousal/partner loss in the LGBTQ community. HABITAT RESTORATION

Volunteer with Marin Municipal Water District staff and other volunteers along Bon Tempe's lakeshore , helping to restore the area by removing invasive French broom. Meet at the Lake Lagunitas parking lot on May 19, at 8 a.m. All ages are welcome to volunteer. Minors under the age of 16 must have a guardian present. KEEPING TABS ON WILDLIFE

The Marin Wildlife Picture Index Project depends on volunteer "Community Scientists" to help maintain wildlife cameras and process photos. One Tam likes to train and retain volunteers for the long-term. At this event, volunteers will be using computers to view and catalog photos acquired from wildlife cameras in Marin. New volunteers and experienced catalogers welcome, and snacks will be provided. Register today at onetam.org/volunteer as space is limited.
