Slide Ranch’s annual Spring Fling took place on April 27 in Muir Beach featuring animals, live music, crafts and workshops, all with a focus on learning about climate and sustainability. Approximately 1,000 people attended, with about 100 volunteers helping out, raising more approximately $34,000, including a sponsorship from Good Earth. Slide Ranch hosts about 10,000 visitors a year and provides 80% of scholarships to all schools and community groups that visit. The funds raised will help cover the cost of those scholarships. Pictured, above, is Tim Cain playing guitar and singing for guests with some of the young attendees getting up close to watch.
ART AND NATURE: The Slide Ranch Spring Fling offered wool craft projects, cheese and granola making workshops, organic food and several musical performances by Wade Peterson, Kathy Quinn and Tim Cain.
