COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER

Grateful Gatherings’ volunteers (above) came together on July 27 at St. Luke Presbyterian Church in San Rafael to accept, sort and box household donations for delivery to two Marin families who were in need of furnishings for their apartments. The effort was supported by Grateful Gatherings’ partners: Birch Circle Movers, City Carpets, North Bay Moving and Storage, St. Luke Presbyterian Church and Studio 64.

Two local families living in virtually empty apartments left for the afternoon and returned to find their homes totally furnished. Both families are headed up by local Marin chefs. Thanks to Grateful Gatherings, its partners and a huge community effort,  these apartments have been turned into homes where the families can relax, enjoy meals and study. With a goal of increasing the number of people who vote in 2020, Indivisible Marin held a benefit concert with the Rivertown Trio on July 28 at Miwok Park in Novato. The Marin-based trio donated their time to entertain the audience with country rock, Americana, roots, blues and honky-tonk music. For additional information, visit indivisiblemarin.org.
