The St. Vincent de Paul Conference at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Novato was presented a check from Linda Hendersen, a representative of this year’s rummage sale volunteers at St. Anthony’s. The volunteers unanimously voted to give the society $4,000 for their good works in supporting neighbors in need. The Marin Foster Care Association hosted its second annual Blues & Brews Marin at Pacheco Ranch Winery in Novato on Oct. 12. The event, which raised more than $100,000, benefitted Marin’s nearly 100 foster children, newborn through young adult, and the families who care for them. On Sept. 19, 80 guests came together with Ferrari of San Francisco and Brouwer & Janachowski to celebrate the mission of North Marin Community Services, an organization that has been connecting people with essential services for 46 years, including scholarships for preschool, youth enrichment programs, a weekly food pantry, emergency housing, employment assistance and mental health counseling. Last year the organization provided services for more than 6,000 people.
