Giving Marin Community Partnership distributed $75,000 to 11 Marin nonprofits outside the new Jonas Center at College of Marin’s Indian Valley Campus on Feb. 9.

The grant winners, selected among nearly 130 applicants, are Kids Cooking for Life, Performing Stars of Marin, Enriching Lives Through Music, Schurig Center for Brain Injury Recovery, NAMI Marin, Ritter Center, Matrix Parent Network & Resource Center, Big Skills Tiny Homes, LITA (Love is the Answer) of Marin, Star Academy and Pacific Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Consortium Foundation. The grants vary from $5,000 to $10,000.

“This year’s winners are an amazing group that often fulfill two, three or more purposes — teaching students how to build tiny homes, and providing homes to the homeless or wildfire victims, for instance,” said Marin Independent Journal Publisher Rob Devincenzi. “Several of this year’s grant winners are playing key roles keeping students, parents and seniors connected with mental health support during the pandemic. We are proud to support their missions.”
Support for Giving Marin’s 2021 grant winners is made possible through Partners Redwood Credit Union, Kaiser Permanente, Ghilotti Bros. Inc., College of Marin, Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical, Nugget Markets, Price Simms Family Advantage Auto Dealerships, CPi Developers and Marin Independent Journal, and Sponsors Prandi Property Management and Northern Pacific Roofing.

In its fourth year, Giving Marin has provided no-cost marketing to nearly 300 nonprofits based in Marin County, served more than 16 million digital ad impressions promoting nonprofits, and has awarded $270,000 in grants. Marketing participation is open to 501(c)(3) organizations based in Marin County and to those that serve clients here.
