The Food Pantry, operated by the St. Raphael’s Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, provides food for underserved families in the San Rafael community. The Food Pantry operates five days a week at Mission San Rafael.
“These days the Food Pantry is busier than ever, and as a result we are now in critical need of certain grocery items. Families are really struggling with inflation and higher food prices – while still recovering from the residual damage from COVID-19,” said Kathleen Woodcock, director of development and communications at St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Donations of non-perishable grocery items like rice, canned fruits and canned vegetables, cereal, soups, jams and peanut butter may be made at St. Raphael’s Rectory, 1104 5th Ave. in San Rafael, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or at weekday and Sunday Masses at St. Raphael’s Church. Items requiring refrigeration cannot be accepted. For more information, visit vinnies.org.
