The Outdoor Art Club announced its annual Leadership Scholarship to Tamalpais High School graduating senior Natalie Nong. The $1,000 annual scholarship is awarded to a young woman graduating from Tamalpais High School with strong academic achievement and exemplary leadership.
A resident of Marin City, Nong is the first in her family to attend college. While in high school, she has been a Link Leader (upperclassmen mentor to freshmen), president of the Creative Writing Club and an active member of the Black Student/Students of Color Union club. She is also a Youth Fellow of the Asian American Alliance of Marin. In addition to her interests in writing and animation, she is passionate about social and racial justice. Nong will attend San Jose State University in the fall.
