More than 450 homebound older adults in Marin County rely on home-delivered meals from Vivalon through its Meals on Wheels and Nourish programs. This Valentine’s Day, Vivalon wanted to remind them that they are not alone.
Vivalon held “Operation Send the Love,” a family-friendly volunteer event, at its Active Aging Center in San Rafael. Dozens of volunteers created Valentine’s Day cards and decorations with the help of local artist Denise Herman. “Operation Send the Love” was a fun and uplifting opportunity for Vivalon volunteers of all ages to bring some cheer to their homebound neighbors.
The Valentine’s Day cards and decorations were delivered, along with meals, to participants enrolled in Vivalon’s Meals on Wheels and Nourish programs during the week of Valentine’s Day.
Vivalon’s Meals on Wheels program provides home-delivered meals for homebound adults who are 60 years and older, and Vivalon’s Nourish program provides home-delivered meals for Marin County residents of any age with chronic health challenges.
