Rotary Club of San Rafael’s Fish ’N Fowl Feast on March 10 benefited veterans in Marin County. The family-style event, held at San Rafael Airport, raised more than $8,200 for Homeward Bound of Marin to support its efforts to house homeless veterans in Marin County.
“I’m so thankful for all the Rotarians who volunteered to make the event possible,” Rotary President Madeleine Moore said. “We are proud to support Homeward Bound and its objective to end homelessness for Marin veterans. Marin Rotary clubs have come together to support this worthy project.”
Diners enjoyed multiple chicken dishes, wild and domestic duck, squab, salmon, cod, shrimp, risotto, homemade desserts and more. Dinner preparation was led by Rotarian and chef John Scopazzi.
Guests were treated to a paper airplane contest — perfect since it was held at the airport — as DJ and Rotarian Gustavo Moraes provided the tunes.
Rotarians Joe Shekou generously donated the event space and fellow Rotarians Rob Devincenzi, Lisa Wilhelm, Alyssa Wilcox, Justin Sommer, Carolyn Hoffman and Moore assisted with aspects of the event.
