Cedars Life hosted its Shake, Rattle and Dance dance-a-thon fundraiser on Aug. 19, raising more than $87,000 in support of its essential services for adults with developmental disabilities.

Cedars residents and day program participants enjoyed hula dancers, music, food, temporary tattoos and prizes. Love2Dance Novato kept the energy and enthusiasm going with scarves and other dance props.

“This is the first time in five years families of residents and participants were invited,” said Mary Sullivan, Cedars Life communications manager. “So it was a very exciting afternoon with a lot of amazing energy.”

Prizes were awarded to participants who raised the most money, including gift cards and a trip to an A’s game.  Residence and group homes who raised the most money won a dinner prepared by the Cedars administration staff.
