MAYFLOWER FUNDS YOUTH FILMMAKERS, MUSICIAN

Mayflower Chorus singers donated funding to support the next generation of filmmakers at San Rafael High School’s MAX (Media Academy eXperience), an interdisciplinary academy for 11th and 12th graders that combines language arts, social studies and media production in a two-year program. The donation will allow students to continue to create advanced film projects using professional equipment with the help of professional mentors.

The group also recently awarded its annual scholarships. The Mayflower Choral Society Scholarship Fund was established in 1993 to benefit local residents who have exhibited a talent or a strong interest in music and want to further develop their musical knowledge or talent.  Mila Mincy of Corte Madera, a Redwood High School senior, studies music and vocal performance and was awarded a cash grant.
