Pickleball players held court Sept. 23 to benefit Beyond Differences and help schools build a culture of belonging. This inaugural pickleball event, Pickle with Purpose, was sold out and featured a lively pickleball tournament, taco bar, margarita bar, tequila and mezcal tastings, a raffle and full access to the Bay Club Ross Valley.
Proceeds from Pickle with Purpose supports Know Your Classmates, Beyond Differences’ school program that breaks down barriers around culture, race, religion and identity, and helps students build connections with their classmates.
Beyond Differences is a nonprofit organization that inspires youth to create cultures of belonging in their schools. With free educator training, social-emotional curriculum and national awareness days of action, Beyond Differences is dedicated to helping students understand social isolation, promote diversity and inclusion and encourage youth to embrace differences and see them as a strength.
