ART HAS A PURPOSE IN DOWNTOWN SAN RAFAEL

The San Rafael Chamber Leadership Institute ended the 2024 cohort by unveiling “Art with a Purpose,” a city-wide art program that supports and aligns with the chamber’s policy priorities. An event at the Falkirk Center on May 30 introduced the community to the project and its purpose. The class project gave participants a chance to utilize their expertise and resources to complete a project benefiting the community. This year’s class project focused on utility boxes around San Rafael as a vehicle to showcase art by local artists that connects community businesses and residents to useful resources, organizations and services. “Team-building is a key element in achieving the goals and outcomes of the project itself. The ultimate success of the project is based on the enthusiasm and leadership of the class of 2024 cohort,” said Cecilia Zamora, chair of the San Rafael Leadership Institute. “We are proud of this project and its enduring impact on the San Rafael community.” For more information, visit srchamber.org.
