NOVATO STUDENTS WELCOME VETERANS HOME

SummerHawks program attendees present welcome bags for Homeward Bound’s incoming veteran residents at Puett Place in Hamilton.

Veterans moving into their new homes will get a personal welcome, thanks to students in the SummerHawks program for RISE Scholars at Hamilton School in Novato. A group of incoming ninth graders made welcome bags filled with useful items for each resident arriving at Homeward Bound’s Puett Place, along with a cheerful greeting. Homeward Bound of Marin held a grand opening in June for the 24-unit building. The first residents will receive their keys this month. SummerHawks is a five week academic program designed to ignite a love for learning and accelerate academic success in a fun and challenging environment. Students are inspired with robotics, coding, STEM challenges, chess, art, athletics, a maker lab, cooking and environmental science
