Vivalon celebrated 70 years of service in Marin County with an open house on Sept.22 at the Vivalon Healthy Aging Campus in San Rafael. The event raised over $285,000 to support Vivalon programs and services, and over 500 attendees participated in various activities. The celebration open house was designed to be a fun and informative experience, and a unique opportunity for the community to witness firsthand Vivalon’s impactful work. The event included interactive activities, program demonstrations, and engagement opportunities, including hula and ukulele classes, chair yoga, Zumba, jewelry making, Mahjongg and song circles. Additionally, information booths were available to provide guests with helpful information about Vivalon’s vital programs and services. The anniversary celebration comes on the heels of the official grand opening of the Vivalon Healthy Aging Campus earlier this year. The new state-of-the-art campus provides vital social engagement, learning opportunities, nutrition services, a new café in partnership with Community Action Marin, and activities and programs designed to promote healthy aging for Marin County residents. The Vivalon Healthy Aging Campus also includes a clinic operated by Marin Community Clinics, and 66 units of 100% affordable Section 8 homes for older adults managed by Eden Housing.
