To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation presented its 29th annual Stepping Out To Celebrate Life gala,
“New York, New York” on Sept. 28 at Marin Center Exhibit Hall in San Rafael. The event was attended by
400 guests who helped raise $560,000 benefiting Bay Area nonprofits that provide direct and emergency services and financial assistance to underserved breast cancer patients. Stepping Out To Celebrate Life is the foundation’s annual signature gala and primary fundraising event. The highlight of the evening was
a fashion show honoring and celebrating 29 local volunteer models thriving after breast cancer. Local breast cancer surgeons, oncologists and radiation oncologists escorted models on the runway. The show’s fashions were provided by Accents, Alice Becker, Eileen Fisher, Macy’s and West Coast Leather. Funds raised will benefit the foundation’s 2025 Breast Cancer Grants Program which supports Bay Area nonprofits
that provide direct and emergency services to women and men dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis. From the 2023-24 grant cycle, 922 breast cancer patients received 9,263 services. Ten breast cancer diagnoses resulted from diagnostic and navigation services funded through the program.
