Save Sight Now, a 2023 Giving Marin grant recipient, held its fifth anniversary Gift of Vision Gala on Nov. 14 at the Mill Valley Community Center. More than 200 of the organization’s supporters gathered to celebrate five years of progress toward finding a vision-saving treatment for Usher syndrome.

“As two parents inspired by our daughter’s rare disorder to cofound Save Sight Now, we were once again reminded of the extraordinary community that surrounds this cause. The love, generosity and belief in our mission from everyone in that room was felt and greatly appreciated, and made the evening unforgettable,” said Rosalyn Porcano, Save Sight Now cofounder. “Raising over $400,000 means we’re propelling life-changing research forward and moving closer to a future where no child has to face the devastating impact of vision loss combined with deafness from Usher syndrome.”
