Approximately 300 current students, alumni and their families attended the celebration. The theme of the party was “Animal Selves,” honoring a tradition at DayCaring. Students chose an animal they identify with, and discussed the qualities they share with the animal. Kids and grown-ups were dressed as a menagerie of animals, from barnyard cows and horses to jungle lions and tigers.
DayCaring staff was presented with official acknowledgements and proclamations from Congressmember Jared Huffman, County of Marin and the Town of Fairfax.
The school’s executive director, Genevieve Sollecito, was a former parent who was so impressed by the school’s impact on her children that she became an early childhood educator. She has been leading the preschool for more than two decades.
“It’s a privilege to serve the community and help give our most precious resource, our children, a foundation that will help them become the best people, students, and citizens they can be,” Sollecito said.
“DayCaring’s dedicated staff of teachers and aides makes sure each child is seen for the unique individual they are.”
