On April 19, more than 60 volunteers from Rotary District 5150 (Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo counties) participated in its annual Rotary Day of Service in support of the North Bay Children’s Center Garden of Eatin’ landscape project.

North Bay Children’s Center’s Garden of Eatin’ is prepped for planting by Rotary volunteers.

The volunteers spent the morning weeding, raking and moving soil, sand and mulch to prepare for the garden at the new Al and Lisa Brayton Campus in Novato. The Braytons, through Thirty-Seven Wines and Brayton Purcell LLP, are Giving Marin Partners.

The next work day at North Bay Children’s Center is planned May 31 and volunteers are still needed. Participants are asked to bring water, sunscreen and a hat for a day of community involvement to build out the Garden of Eatin’ Learning Lab. Gloves, tools and refreshments will be provided. The children’s center is located at 932 C St. in Novato.
