Marin-based 10,000 Degrees hosted its annual fundraising gala, “ONE Amazing Community,” on April 26 at the Marin Civic Center Exhibit Hall in San Rafael.

The gala raised approximately $1.1 million, with over 450 guests gathered to support 10,000 Degrees students, alumni and programs. Proceeds raised at the gala will benefit students and programs across the eight Bay Area counties that 10,000 Degrees serves.

10,000 Degrees alumnus Gonzalo Berluzconi was this year’s gala keynote speaker, and fellow alumnus and local filmmaker Yoel Iskindir served as master of ceremonies.

The annual gala celebrates and recognizes the contributions of many in the community who have played a role in helping achieve educational equity and in supporting students from low-income backgrounds to become college graduates.

“At this consequential and complex time in our country, investing in our young people is essential. Our vision at 10,000 Degrees is for a future where all students, regardless of race, ethnicity or socioeconomic background, will have the full range of educational opportunities to achieve their full potential,” said Kim Mazzuca, 10,000 Degrees president and CEO.
