Vivalon, a San Rafael-based nonprofit that advances the independence, health and quality of life for older adults and people with disabilities in Marin County, held its fundraising gala, Soirée d’Élégance, on May 3.

The Gatsby Speakeasy-themed gala took place at a private car museum in San Rafael, where over 200 guests congregated among a collection of classic automobiles. Soirée d’Élégance included Gatsby-themed entertainers, dancers, a magician and a live music performance by the Cottontails.

Soirée d’Élégance raised $450,000 benefiting Vivalon’s home-delivered meals and healthy aging programs. Vivalon’s meal delivery services provide lifelines for older adults who often suffer from debilitating health conditions that prevent them from preparing meals and grocery shopping. Last year, Vivalon delivered 242,828 meals to more than 1,000 people through its Meals on Wheels and Nourish programs. According to the organization, meal delivery participation is projected to grow significantly in 2025.
