The Marin County Office of Education hosted its annual School to Career Partnership Board Job Shadow Day and Luncheon on
April 23. This event provided students with a half-day career exploration experience alongside members of the School to Career Partnership Board.
In the morning, 26 students from 12 high schools were matched with 24 employers based on their individual career interests. Students took part in company tours, participated in informational interviews and gained insights into a variety of industries. The day concluded with a luncheon where students and their hosts reflected on the morning’s experiences, highlighting the meaningful impact on both the students and
the professionals who mentored them.
“We extend our sincere thanks to the School to Career Partnership Board for welcoming students into their workplaces and providing such an enriching opportunity for Marin County students,” said Jesse Madsen, director of College and Career Readiness at the Marin County Office of Education. This year’s event also celebrated Ken Lippi, retiring senior deputy superintendent of the Marin County Office of Education, for his 25 years of leadership in the School to Career program. Under Lippi’s guidance, thousands of Marin students have completed internships and participated in career exploration experiences. Giving Marin supporters Kaiser Permanente, Price Family Dealerships, College of Marin, the Charles and Barbara Goodman Foundation and Marin Independent Journal were among the host companies.
