Tribe Rising India, the Mill Valley-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing education and creating generational change for the Santal people in India, held its annual fundraiser Sept. 14 at the Mill Valley Community Center. The event featured traditional Indian music and cuisine, Bollywood dancers, henna and more, raising $326,000 in support of the Santal high school buildings, grounds and scholarships.
This year’s Fund-A-Dream raised funds for the dining hall, multipurpose room, residences and visitor center.
