The Melissa Prandi Children Foundation held its annual Safari Nights fundraising event on Oct. 4 at Embassy Suites in San Rafael. The event raised over $200,000 to support vulnerable communities in Uganda. Thanks to the generosity of local residents, Rotarians and partnering businesses, the foundation continues to expand its impact both locally and globally.

“We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the support from our community,” said Melissa Prandi, founder and executive director. “These funds go a very long way in Uganda, transforming lives through education, training and essential resources.”

The event also generated more than 20 new child sponsorships, providing life-changing educational opportunities for students in underserved regions of Uganda.

In February 2026, the foundation will lead its annual Service and Safari for the Soul trip, bringing volunteers to Uganda to support on-the-ground programs and witness firsthand the transformative power of community investment.

Holding the event in San Rafael not only strengthens international outreach but also supports local engagement, fostering a spirit of service and collaboration throughout the community.

The Melissa Prandi Children Foundation empowers impoverished communities in Uganda through educational scholarships, vocational training, microloans, sustainable development initiatives and essential food and supply donations.

The organization remains committed to creating lasting change by equipping individuals and families with the tools needed to build brighter futures.
