Roots of Peace announced a planned leadership transition this month. After nearly three decades guiding the organization, Heidi Kuhn will launch the Heidi Kuhn Global Peace Foundation, and the role of CEO has transitioned to her son, Tucker Kuhn.
Roots of Peace has worked in war-torn countries around the world to remove the remnants of war, landmines and unexploded ordinance and restore the land in order to rebuild peaceful communities for generations. Their award-winning methodology is rooted in a philosophy of providing market-driven solutions tailored to rural communities in war-torn lands, serving as a catalyst for industry-wide development. for hundreds of thousands of farming families around the world. Field teams and operational methods remain stable as they move through this transition, the organization reports.
Tucker Kuhn brings more than 15 years of direct leadership across Afghanistan, Vietnam and Guatemala. He designed and led programs that increased farmer income by more than 200%, the organization reports, through aligned irrigation improvements, soil rehabilitation and structured buyer coordination adopted by local institutions.
