Marin Cultural Association announced the winners of the 2026 Marin County Poetry Out Loud Finals. Selected from over 400 students, these students brought poetry to life with presence and skill:
First place: Lillian Braly, Marin School of the Arts
Second place: Juno Phipps, Novato High School
Third place: Adeline Newby, The Branson School
Fourth place: Nate Lee, Tamalpais High School
Braly will move on to represent Marin County at the Poetry Out Loud State Finals March 8-9 in Sacramento. The winners of the state finals will proceed to the national finals in Washington, DC.
“Marin Cultural Association is honored to partner with the California Arts Council as the state’s local partner for Poetry Out Loud,” said Tracy Bays-Boothe, managing director of the Marin Cultural Association. “This program celebrates the power of the arts to inspire, connect and empower community, and we are continually amazed by the talent and creativity of Marin’s students.”
The event also featured performances by local poets Francesca Bell, Tracy Jones and Maxine Flasher-Düzgüneş.
Poetry Out Loud is coordinated in Marin County by the Marin Cultural Association in partnership with theCalifornia Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts.
