FRIDAY ART WALKS IN SAN RAFAEL

Enjoy galleries, open studios, art exhibits, live music and refreshments as you stroll in downtown San Rafael on the second Friday of each month, 5 p.m.- 8 p.m.  Anchored by Art Works Downtown galleries and artist studios, the 2nd Friday Art Walk links venues along downtown Fourth Street in San Rafael, the second Friday of each month. Hospice by the Bay is recruiting volunteers for its Hodgepodge Thrift Stores in San Rafael and Novato.  Enjoy being part of a closely-knit team within the larger caring community.  Volunteer positions include greeter, merchandiser, cashier or sorter.  Customer service or retail experience is a plus.  Hodgepodge is open six days a week and many shifts are available. HELPING HABITAT AND TRAILS

MARIN MASTER GARDENER TRAINING PROGRAM

Marin residents with an interest in horticulture and a desire to share what they’ve learned through the community outreach projects may apply to the Master Gardener Training Program. In addition to completing the Master Gardener Training Program and its requirements, first year Marin Master Gardeners are required to complete at least 50 hours of program-sponsored volunteer service and 12 hours of appropriate continuing education in the first year after graduation.
