GOLDEN GATE COMPUTER SOCIETY

The Golden Gate Computer Society has many special interest group meetings each month open to everyone. The charge is $5 per event for nonmembers. Meetings cover a variety of topics and technology and take place in Corte Madera, Mill Valley, Tiburon, Larkspur and Greenbrae. SAN ANSELMO AND FAIRFAX SENIORS

The Ross Valley Seniors is a social group that meets on the first Thursday of each month.  Fairfax and San Anselmo collaborate to bring seniors a monthly luncheon with special topics.  Activities include historical talks, physical activities, information on resources for the aging population, games, crafts and many other activities. FRIDAY ART WALKS IN SAN RAFAEL

Enjoy galleries, open studios, art exhibits, live music and refreshments as you stroll in downtown San Rafael on the second Friday of each month, 5 p.m.- 8 p.m.  Anchored by Art Works Downtown galleries and artist studios, the 2nd Friday Art Walk links venues along downtown Fourth Street in San Rafael, the second Friday of each month. PROJECT HOPE EQUINE ASSISTED THERAPY

Project HOPE provides equine assisted to therapy to veterans. Some client families have children and in order to participate in the equine therapy, some need to have child care on site. The program needs volunteers with a background in child development. The child care will take place at the Morgan Horse Ranch at the Point Reyes National Seashore on Sundays morning for one to three hours. For addition information, go to projecthope.center.

HALLECK CREEK RANCH REQUESTS VOLUNTEERS

Halleck Creek Ranch helps people with disabilities live a life without barriers through therapeutic horseback riding. Gentle horses are paired with volunteers that carry special riders through the West Marin countryside. Program volunteers work directly with the therapy horses and riders. VOLUNTEER AT THE MARIN HEADLANDS NURSERY

The Marin Headlands Nursery team of staff and volunteers grow plants to preserve and restore the Marin Headlands. VOLUNTEER READING BUDDIES

Make a difference in a child’s life by volunteering to assist new readers build their skills and confidence. Volunteers encourage new readers to engage with library books at a new level by assisting with pronunciation, helping with difficult words, introducing new words, posing and answering questions to increase comprehension and general concepts.  Volunteers read with children at the Pickleweed Library for 1 hour per week on Tuesday evenings.
