The Golden Gate Computer Society has many special interest group meetings each month open to everyone. The charge is $5 per event for nonmembers. Meetings cover a variety of topics and technology and take place in Corte Madera, Mill Valley, Tiburon, Larkspur and Greenbrae. MARIN NEEDLE ARTS GUILD

The Marin Needle Arts Guild meets the first Monday of each month at Aldersgate Church Hall, 1 Wellbrock Heights, San Rafael from 4-6 p.m., followed by a potluck dinner.  This group gets together to enjoy creating things with fabric, yarn, beads and more and teaching others. Marin Professionals is a networking and job search center for experienced professionals. The organization continues to offer its 5-Day Re-Employment Workshop online via Zoom throughout the fall. It's also continuing to hold virtual meetings every Monday morning when both current participants and newcomers are able to get assistance from employment experts, recruiter and career coaches. RIDE FOR TRIPS FOR KIDS MARIN

Miles for Smiles, a virtual Bike-A-Thon supporting Trips for Kids Marin, runs through Nov. 15. The Sausalito Woman’s Club Scholarship Recognition Fund is accepting scholarship applications for the 2021-2022 academic year at swcsrf.org. Permanent residents living in the Sausalito or Marin City School District who are planning to initiate or continue their education at an accredited college, graduate school, vocational or art school are eligible to apply. RACE, CLASS, HEALTH WORKSHOP

Side by Side's YouThrive offers workshops on race, equity and mental health at College of Marin. YouThrive recently completed a six-week pilot workshop, "Call to Courage," to help students explore the topics of race, class, health and related issues that affect student life, community and educational experiences. MARIN VALENTINE’S BALL

The Marin Valentine's Ball raises awareness and funds for charitable organizations that benefit children and families in the North Bay. The Feb. 6, 7 p.m. will be virtual via Zoom, featuring a four course meal delivered to your home. On an online auction will run from Feb. 5, 8 a.m. to Feb. 8, 7 p.m. The proceeds will benefit North Bay Children's Center, Side by Side and St. Vincent's School for Boys.
