The Ross Valley Seniors is a social group that meets on the first Thursday of each month.  Fairfax and San Anselmo collaborate to bring seniors a monthly luncheon with special topics.  Activities include historical talks, physical activities, information on resources for the aging population, games, crafts and many other activities. MARINE MAMMAL CENTER SCIENCE SUNDAYS

Join the Marine Mammal Center on the second and fourth Sunday of each month for Marine Science Sunday, an ocean-inspired event series about the wonders of the ocean. Visitors of all ages will enjoy interactive presentations and see the current patients at the hospital and education center. HOSPICE BY THE BAY SUPPORT GROUPS AND COUNSELING

Hospice by the Bay offers grief workshops, drop-in  support groups,  and individual and family counseling  throughout the year for adults and children.  A sliding-fee scale is available for those who qualify. To get a schedule of upcoming groups or to schedule counseling, go to hospicebythebay.org. Ongoing groups include a drop-in grief support group on Tuesdays, 12:30-1:30 p.m., and a drop-in group for bereaved parents on the first Thursday of each month, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.

SHRED-A-THON IN NOVATO

Redwood Credit Union is hosting a free Shred-a-Thon, June 1, 9 a.m.-noon, in the Sutter Novato Community Hospital parking lot, 190 Rowland Way, Novato. Attendees may bring up to three standard file-sized boxes, 15”x12”x10”, of confidential documents for shredding. Conservation Corps North Bay will also be on site to collect and recycle e-waste such as old computers, printers, cell phones and personal electronics.
