The Asian Pacific Heritage Festival is May 5, 10 a.m.-2:00 p.m., at the Marin YWCA, 1500 Los Gamos Drive in San Rafael. The event is sponsored by Asian Americans Alliance of Marin, Filipino Americans Northern California Organization(FANCO), Japanese American Group, Korean American Group, Marin Chinese Cultural Association (MCCA) and the Vietnamese American Association of Marin. The festival will include a Japanese tea ceremony, coloring contests with prizes for all age groups including small children, an origami demonstration, and several performing groups. The 2018 Dee Fahy Volunteer Achievement Award was presented to Anita Moran by Hospice by the Bay CEO Kitty Whitaker who acknowledged Moran’s four years of dedication to more than 40 patients, including those who are marginally-housed or experiencing unique challenges.
