SINGING, VOLUNTEERING, BIKING

Singers Marin’s “Listen to the Music” concert on Aug. 19 ended with a standing ovation by the sell-out audience. The performance featured many of the greatest hits from the 1960s and ’70s including an audience sing along.  Singers Marin is now accepting registration for its youth and adult choruses in preparation for the holiday concert at the Marin Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium  in San Rafael on Dec. 16. For information about joining the group or the holiday performance, go to singersmarin.org.   -Photo courtesy of Singers Marin

ExtraFood.org volunteer Gary Gellin delivered food to staff at the Canal Welcome Center’s Presente Program. Extrafood.org’s volunteers pick up excess fresh food from local businesses and schools and immediately deliver it to safety net partners who serve Marin’s most vulnerable people. For more information about volunteering as a food runner, email Volunteer@ExtraFood.org, call (415) 997-9830, or visit ExtraFood.org.                -Photo courtesy of Extrafood.org

Trips for Kids provides transformative cycling experiences through a network of chapters that promote healthy lifestyles, environmental awareness and personal empowerment for all young people,  especially those in under-served communities.  Trips for Kids teaches young people how to fix and maintain bicycles (above top), cycling skills (above center), and offers cycling trips throughout the year (above bottom).  The 30th anniversary celebration fundraiser for the organization takes place Oct. 19 at the Mill Valley Community Center.  -Photos courtesy of Trips for Kids
