RAISING VOICES, INCREASING EQUITY

Youth Leadership Institute hosted the “Raise Your Voices” gala on Nov. 15 at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco. Redwood Credit Union came out in force to show their support of youth. Pictured (above, left to right) are Redwood Credit Union’s Matt Martin, vice president of community and government relations and Jodi Given, community investment advocate, Youth Leadership Institute’s CEO Jonathan Marker and board chair Brandon Brown, Redwood Credit Union’s Gonzalo Romo, business development officer, Wrynn Valentine, financial wellness advocate and Eric Maldonado, business development manager.

Youth Leadership institute works within coalitions and with elected officials to promote policy change that makes our communities more equitable and just for young people, especially young people of color. Approximately 220 people attended the gala event. Youth panelists Kieshaun White, Monique Ray, and Josh Rowe shared their thoughts on what it means to be a leader. They are pictured (above, left to right) with Youth Leadership Institute’s Patricia Barahona (second from right).

Youth Leadership Institute’s presentation shared the program successes. Guests raised their paddles during the auction that brought in $125,000 for the programs that Youth Leadership Institute runs at several locations in California, including Marin County.  -Photos by Anthony Maureal for The Mogli
