CELEBRATING IN STYLE

To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation presented its 24th Annual Stepping Out To Celebrate Life gala, La Vie En Rose, on Sept. 28, at Marin Center Exhibit Hall, San Rafael. The sold-out event with 600 guests raised more than $530,00. The evening’s highlight was a fashion show featuring and celebrating 31 local models including one man, who are thriving after breast cancer. The show’s fashions were provided by Alice Becker, Eileen Fisher, Helen Lyall, Macy’s, UKO and West Coast Leather. Pictured (above) is the fashion show finale.

Physician escorts included prominent local breast cancer surgeons, oncologists and radiation oncologists from Marin Cancer Care, MarinHealth, Kaiser Permanente,  Sutter Health and UCSF. Funds raised will benefit the foundation’s 2020 Breast Cancer Grants Program which supports Bay Area nonprofits that provide direct and emergency services to breast cancer patients. In 2019, To Celebrate Life granted $350,000 to 22 Bay Area nonprofits that assist underserved breast cancer patients.
