Cedars’ annual “Shake, Rattle and Bowl” fundraiser on Aug. 22 was presented virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions. The organization set a goal of raising $35,000 but ended up bringing in almost $51,000 from more than 400 donations. Gift bags that included a bowling shirt, a bowling game kit, decorations and a boxed lunch were delivered to the 108 participants. Participants chose a computer bowling game or the game provided by Cedars. The Sparkle Foundation partnered in August with Beauty Heroes, a women-owned Novato business, to launch a campaign to thank local teachers. “Sparkling our Heroes” gifted 300 educators with products donated from Beauty Heroes. The WildCare annual gala went virtual on Aug. 29, featuring close-up encounters with live wildlife ambassadors like Pele the peregrine falcon, pictured with Ambassador Program Manager Melissa Tofflemoyer.
