FUNDS FOR SCHOOL, HEALTH

San Rafael Elks Lodge 1108 donated $5,500 in October to Marin County schools to help purchase elementary school supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Funds came from a special Elks National Foundation Beacon Grant. The “Thank You” signs were drawn by Marin County students. Pictured (left to right) are Marin County School Superintendent Mary Jane Burke, Elks officers Joe Tato and Alan Quinton, and Doug Monti, Exalted Ruler of Lodge 1108. To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation held its annual fundraiser on Sept. 26. This year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the event was held virtually. “Stepping Out to Celebrate Life: We Are Thrivers! We Are Resilient!” brought in 500 guests and raised more than $270,000. The fund will benefit the organization’s 2021 Bay Area Breast Cancer Grants Program.  -Photos from previous live events by Patty Spinks and Phyllis Evans
