Due to the increase in COVID-19 breakouts  and for the safety of their breast cancer thriver models, guests and volunteers, To Celebrate Life’s 26th annual Stepping Out gala was canceled. In lieu of an in-person event, To Celebrate Life held the 2021 Stepping Out To Celebrate Life Campaign Fundraiser, which raised nearly $312,000.
The campaign was comprised of a Fund A Need from September through October and online auction held Oct. 8-24. Generous friends of To Celebrate Life contributed $30,000 for a Fund A Need match during the month of October for breast cancer awareness which will benefit its 2022 Breast Cancer Grants Program.
To Celebrate Life Board of Directors members Kim Wimer and Julie Ballard received a $25,000 check on behalf of the foundation from Price Simms Family Dealerships, a Giving Marin Partner. The check presentation ceremony was held Oct. 20 at the Polestar store in The Village, Corte Madera.
Since 1996, To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation has granted over $6.75 million to Bay Area nonprofits that provide emergency, direct and navigational services, diagnostic testing and complementary holistic therapies to breast cancer patients. Each year, over 10,000 services are provided targeting underserved communities and families.

Pug aficionados Leigh Kenny (pictured) and John Cline from Nicasio have adopted numerous pugs from Muttville Senior Dog Rescue over the years. Saul, Chopper, Magnus (RIP) and Lexie (puggle in the group photo from the Tubbs Fire) are all living the adopted life filled with love. “The senior pugs we’ve taken home from Muttville have taught us to look for joy in everyday life, to age gracefully, and to eat snacks at every opportunity,” Kenny said. “They’ve brought so much love and meaning into our days on the farm (Stone Step Farm, Nicasio), and we’ll be forever grateful to Muttville for sharing them with us.” – Photos courtesy of Muttville
