The Redwoods celebrated its annual scholarship program on June 7. Eight Marin County high school graduates were each awarded a $3,000 scholarship toward their future education. For almost  30 years this annual scholarship program, entirely funded by The Redwoods residents, has been a highlight of the community.

“As a resident of The Redwoods, which is an integral and important institution in the community of Mill Valley and Marin County, I feel it is an opportunity to give back to the younger generation of our beloved community,” said Sylvia Schwartz.

The winners are selected based on a number of criteria including academic achievement, community involvement, employment, classes, awards and financial need.

Stefania Bitton, Indigo Eastman, Aminata Fall, Juan Flores, Kaia Lapic, Brandon Nguyen, Andres Martinez Sabino and Rosa Velazquez were this year’s recipients.  For more information, visit theredwoods.org.
