The 27th annual Lifehouse Awards Banquet was held on Nov. 3 at Embassy Suites in San Rafael. More than 350 guests celebrated the contributions of the Lifehouse community partners and staff. The evening’s master of ceremonies was Mary Jane Burke, former Marin County superintendent of schools.
Awards were presented for corporate involvement, philanthropy and volunteerism. The honorees: Restaurant of the Year: Left Bank Brasserie (Frank Caiazzo and Carolina Data); Winery of the Year: Schweiger Vineyards & Winery (Sally and Fred Schweiger); Philanthropist of the Year: Ashcraft-McGinnis Family (Kim McGinnis); Outstanding Corporate Involvement: Down Syndrome Connections of the Bay Area (Angela and John Busick); Volunteer of the Year: Susan Dizon; Spirit of Lifehouse: Patrick Loftus-Sweetland; Employer of the Year: Safeway NorCal (Karl Schroeder); Charles L. Martin Award: Marin Independent Journal (Rob Devincenzi); Individual Achievement Awards: Patrick Huls and Stephanie Caires; Outstanding Staff Recognition: Diane Dragoo (Assistant Manager), Ra’ Keil Fountain (assistant manager), Alisha Krupinsky (SLS manager), Lucas Mancini (accounts payable specialist), Winer Benjamin (SLS House lead).
“I am confident that Lifehouse will continue to thrive with the support of our staff, volunteers, family, friends, community members and the Board of Directors who guide us,” said Nancy Dow Moody, Lifehouse president and CEO. “Thank you for joining us as we celebrate with our remarkable community, 69 years of excellence in support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”
