North Bay Children’s Center welcomed 130 guests and donors for Raise the Roof for Bright Futures, a benefit concert on Oct. 29 featuring PBS recording artist Pasquale Esposito.

The fundraiser gave guests a glimpse of NBCC’s new campus in Novato, under construction at 932 C St. NBCC is northern Marin’s largest childcare facility and serves infants, toddlers and preschoolers, as well as provides before and after school care and summer camps.

The festivities continued at the home of Carol Gothelf, which she shared with her late husband, Mort Gothelf of Morton & Bassett Spices. An intimate concert, a live auction and fund-a-need, led by The Singing Auctioneer, Ellen Toscano, raised more than $228,000 for NBCC. The event also included a tribute to Mort Gothelf, acknowledging his significant contributions to the health and welfare of children and their families throughout the North Bay.

Funds raised will support North Bay Children’s Center’s Bright Futures Campaign to construct a new child development center and the future home of the Garden of Eatin’ Learning Lab that will expand capacity for NBCC’s critical safety net programs and services and reach more children throughout the North Bay. The center serves more than 650 children at 15 locations located in Marin and Sonoma counties.
