Since December 2022, Ritter Center has been working in partnership with Community Action Marin to provide expanded street medicine and integrated behavioral health care services for people experiencing homelessness. The partnership was possible through a grant awarded by Marin Health & Human Services. The collaborative street
medicine team, now called the Health & Wellness Outreach Team, provides services including physical exams, prescription refills, mental health care counseling and more.
The team, which includes a medical provider, patient navigator/medical assistant and benefits specialist, provides urgent primary medical care services, and preventive care including COVID-19 testing and vaccines, while also connecting patients with behavioral health support, shelter and housing resources, medical insurance registration, and access to food and income.
The schedule changes monthly but locations include New Beginnings, Jonathan’s Place, San Geronimo Valley Community Center, Lee Garner encampment, Bolinas Community Center, Hamilton Field/marsh, Albert Park, West Marin Food Pantry, Binford Road encampment and a variety of community centers.
