Center for Domestic Peace hosted its 20th “In Celebration of Mothers” luncheon on May 10 at Peacock Gap in San Rafael. The event honored Donna Garske, executive director emeritus, for her leadership in creating the event and introduced the community of supporters to Tara Peterson, Center for Domestic Peace’s new executive director. The event raised more than $200,000 in support of the organization’s programs. Special guest Nina Simons spoke about her personal journey with Bioneers, a nonprofit organization that highlights breakthrough solutions for restoring people and the planet, her leadership work with women, and the intersectionality of domestic violence and other issues including colonialism, environmentalism, racism and patriarchy.
