MILAGRO FOUNDATION GRANTS AWARDED

Carlos Santana’s Milagro Foundation approved $335,000 in grant monies to 11 nonprofit agencies in October. Local
grantees include: ExtraFood ($25,000 grant) is working to end hunger and wasted food in the Bay Area by collecting extra food from local restaurants, businesses, hospitals and grocery stores and distributing food items to local food organizations feeding under-resourced residents. Little Wishes ($30,000 grant) was started by nurses to grant children living in Bay Area
hospitals with severe and terminal health issues their special little wish. special little wish. Conscious Kitchen ($25,000
grant) addresses food equity issues by providing fresh, local, organic, seasonal, non-gmo school meals in low-performing schools. Additionally, 10,000 Degrees received a Milagro grant of $80,000 over two years to add four new Marin County college freshmen as Santana Scholars. Santana Scholars provides annual seed money toward four years of college scholarship funds to deserving under-resourced students.
