The Point Reyes Birding & Nature Festival will return for the 16th year April 25-27. This annual event celebrates the spring bird and wildlife migration along the Pacific Flyway throughout Marin and Sonoma counties and brings together experienced birders, naturalists and others interested
to learn about birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and the unique lands and waters of the areas. This year’s event will feature more than 40 field events in Marin, Sonoma and Contra Costa counties.

The family-friendly event celebrates the unique flora
and fauna of Point Reyes.

Point Reyes National Seashore provides the main backdrop for the festival, which some say offers some of the finest birding in the United States with over 70,000 acres of habitat including estuaries, grasslands, coastal scrub and forest with a strong influence from the Pacific Ocean. More than 54% of all North American bird species have been spotted and recorded in Point Reyes. In April, the Mediterranean climate of California sets the stage for a show, where wintering and
breeding birds overlap in this coastal area that has been named National Audubon Society’s No. 1 birding hotspot for several consecutive years. The event will feature more than 60 guided field events covering a range of flora and fauna, and opportunities for hiking, kayaking, art, nature writing and more. All events are led by passionate birders and naturalists across Marin County. These events are geared to bring a broader awareness, appreciation and stewardship of Marin and beyond.
