‘FRIENDRAISER’ BOOSTS SUPPORT FOR KCL

Kids Cooking for Life held its annual “Friendraiser” on Dec. 8 — a community-centered gathering where supporters, partners and friends came together to celebrate the organization’s mission and impact. The event featured seven speakers, including volunteer instructors, partner organizations and several junior chefs, each sharing personal stories that underscored the power of the group’s programs.

All of the food served at the event was made from Kids Cooking for Life recipes, showcasing
the healthy meals the students learn to prepare. In- kind contributions, including wine from Oro Puro Vineyards, groceries from Trader Joe’s and beer from Headlands Brewing, underscored the community aspect of the Kids Cooking for Life program.

The evening also featured a lively drawing with prizes donated by local partners, including Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese, Octavia Restaurant (San Francisco), China Live Restaurant
(San Francisco), Bear Restaurant (Napa) and a swag bag from Marin Country Mart.

“With a fantastic turnout and an atmosphere that was fun, cozy and deeply meaningful, the event was a resounding success,” said Lara Rajninger, founder and executive director of Kids Cooking for Life. “We raised much-needed funds, strengthened community relationships, elevated awareness of our work, and inspired continued support for the year ahead.”
